The Center of Competence Clean&Circle welcomed an official visit at a high academic level, highlighting its importance as a leading scientific and educational institution in Bulgaria. Among the guests were the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asya Asenova. The visit marked an important step toward strengthening the partnership between scientific institutions and the educational sector.

On March 6, 2026, another working meeting of the teams from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” involved in the implementation of the project was held in the building of the Competence Center “Clean&Circle”. Leading researchers and representatives of the individual scientific teams from the Faculty of Biology, Faculty of Physics, Faculty of Geology and Geography, and the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy of the University participated in the meeting. They presented the progress of their research activities and discussed future development plans.

A team of researchers associated with the Clean&Circle Competence Centre has published a new scientific article in the international peer-reviewed journal Environments. The article is titled “Microbiological and Chemical Insights into Plasma-Assisted Disinfection of Liquid Digestate from Wastewater Treatment Plant ‘Kubratovo’” and was published in volume 13, issue 2 of the journal (2026).

The young researchers at CC Clean&Circle – Lyubomira Gelanova, Yoana Sofronieva, Yoana Petrova, and Kirilka Milcheva – successfully defended their master's theses in the Master's programs “Environmental Biotechnology”, “Biobusiness and Bioentrepreneurship”, and “Ecomanagement”. Their achievements are the result of in-depth research work, commitment to sustainable development, and active participation in the scientific and innovation activities of the center.
