Trainings
Clean & Circle Center of Competence – Clean Technologies for a Sustainable Environment: Water, Waste, Energy for a Circular Economy operates not only as a research and innovation infrastructure, but also as a platform for education and qualification, particularly at Master’s and doctoral (PhD) level. The information on this topic can be summarized as follows:
1. Context of the academic programs within Clean & Circle
The Clean & Circle Center of Competence is designed to serve as a core structure for integrating research activities with higher education by creating interdisciplinary scientific and educational initiatives. Its main focus is on the development of technologies and methods for sustainable management of water, waste, and energy within the framework of the circular economy.
In particular, the Center envisages the implementation of joint programs for Master’s students, PhD candidates, and post-doctoral researchers, combining natural sciences, engineering disciplines, clean-environment technologies, and entrepreneurship aimed at technology transfer and practical application.
2. Master’s programs
According to available information, the Center participates in the development and coordination of Master’s programs that include content directly related to Clean & Circle thematic areas. Key examples include:
- Environmental Biotechnology – focused on biotechnological processes for water and waste treatment, integrating circular economy principles.
- Environmental Management – addressing sustainable development, resource efficiency, and environmental systems management.
- Bio-business and Bio-entrepreneurship – providing training for the creation and management of innovations and enterprises based on sustainable technologies.
- Applied Hydrobiology and Aquacultures – the Master’s program focuses on the study of biological objects, processes, and resources in natural and artificial water bodies; the control and management of water treatment processes; ichthyology; and aquaculture production technologies.
These Master’s programs are designed to include practical components, laboratory exercises, and case studies related to modern clean technologies and resource management.
3. Doctoral (PhD) programs
Within the framework of the Center, doctoral programs are also envisaged, offering opportunities for advanced research training in key areas, such as:
- PhD program in Biotechnologies of Treatment Processes – focused on scientific research in biotechnological methods for the treatment of water, soils, and waste, as well as on the development of new biotechnological solutions for clean technologies.
- PhD program in Hydrobiology with three tracks: hydrobiology, water treatment, and ichthyology and aquaculture.
The PhD programs are structured to support the integration of interdisciplinary research approaches (science, engineering, ecology, and entrepreneurship) and provide conditions for the development of independent research projects, scientific publications, and participation in international scientific forums.
4. Nature and added value of participation in Clean & Circle
The programs associated with the Center are characterized as:
- Interdisciplinary, combining knowledge from natural sciences, engineering, and management;
- Aligned with labor market needs, with a strong focus on clean technologies, sustainable development, circular economy, and technological entrepreneurship;
- Research-driven, offering students and PhD candidates access to modern equipment, laboratories, and active participation in research projects.
