On October 28, 2025, the Center of Competence Clean&Circle was presented during the Innovation Day under the project EIT HEI CLIMATE ENGINE, held at the University of Forestry. The event was dedicated to the topic “Circular Economy – Current Issues and Research” and attracted significant interest among the participants.

On October 23, 2025, PhD student Magdalena Bogdanova from the Faculty of Biology at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, a member of the “Clean&Circle” project team and partner of Sofia University, participated as a lecturer in the Blue Economy Training Day, part of a five-day program dedicated to sustainable development and the blue economy in the Black Sea region.

On October 7, 2025, the Center of Competence “Clean&Circle”, a partner of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, welcomed a delegation from the Rector’s leadership of the International University of Astana, Kazakhstan. The occasion for the visit was the official signing of an agreement between the two universities to launch a joint double-degree Master’s program in Eco-Management. The “Clean&Circle” Center, as an innovative research and educational complex in the field of clean technologies and circular economy, will play an active role in the training of students in the new program. During the visit, the guests became acquainted with the Center’s modern laboratories and high-tech equipment, as well as with opportunities for joint scientific projects and PhD training.  

At the beginning of September, a working visit was held with Chinese scientists from Tongji University, Shanghai, and Bulgarian researchers from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and the Center of Competence “Clean&Circle” at the largest technological complex for waste processing – the Municipal Enterprise “Sofia Waste Treatment Plant.” The discussions focused on opportunities for innovative key solutions in technologies for biogas production from food waste and composting technology for plant waste.
