With increasing pressure on water resources, the demand for effective, science-based strategies for water management is more urgent than ever. A research team from the Faculty of Biology at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" has made a significant contribution in this area.

On World Environment Day (June 5), the conference hall of the new building of the Center of Competence Clean&Circle gathered students from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and their innovative proposals for sustainable development. During the event, student projects were presented focusing on innovative biotechnological solutions and entrepreneurship, aimed at transforming waste into valuable resources and energy.

On May 30, 2025, the Clean&Circle Competence Center hosted the first official meeting for the new programming period. The event brought together representatives of all partner organizations engaged in developing sustainable technological solutions in the field of the circular economy.

On May 23rd, the Clean&Circle Center of Competence hosted a delegation from Soka University, Japan. The visit was held in a spirit of academic collaboration, with a focus on sustainable development and innovations in the circular economy. It marked the first official working meeting held in the newly inaugurated building of the center, located on the Sofia University campus in the Lozenets district.
