The Center of Competence Clean&Circle welcomed an official visit at a high academic level, highlighting its importance as a leading scientific and educational institution in Bulgaria. Among the guests were the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asya Asenova. The visit marked an important step toward strengthening the partnership between scientific institutions and the educational sector.

During the visit, the guests had the opportunity to explore the center’s high-tech laboratories—an innovation hub where solutions for a cleaner and more sustainable environment are developed. Clean&Circle is equipped with modern apparatus designed for both scientific research and education in key areas such as water purification, circular economy, waste management, and efficient use of resources and energy. The main focus of the meeting was on the future of education and the preparation of the next generation of specialists. Opportunities for developing innovative bachelor’s and master’s programs with a strong practical orientation were discussed. Priority areas included clean technologies, eco-biotechnologies, and the bioeconomy—fields that play a crucial role in the transition to sustainable development.

Special attention was given to the development of internship programs and the implementation of the modern approach of “learning through creation and practice.” This model places students in a real working environment, enabling them to actively participate in research projects and innovation processes during their studies.

Violina Dobichina, Director of the Scientific, Educational and Cultural Center “Al-Farabi,” also took an active part in the discussions. An ambitious vision was outlined for expanding Clean&Circle’s educational and internship initiatives internationally, with a particular focus on the Central Asian region. This collaboration has the potential to create new opportunities for the exchange of knowledge, technologies, and best practices.

Clean&Circle continues to strengthen its role as a driver of innovation not only in science but also in education. The center actively develops practical STEAM activities aimed at supporting new school centers and inspiring young people to pursue scientific careers. With its modern infrastructure, strong expert capacity, and forward-looking vision, Clean&Circle is establishing itself as a key partner in building sustainable education and next-generation technologies.
