On March 6, 2026, another working meeting of the teams from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” involved in the implementation of the project was held in the building of the Competence Center “Clean&Circle”. Leading researchers and representatives of the individual scientific teams from the Faculty of Biology, Faculty of Physics, Faculty of Geology and Geography, and the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy of the University participated in the meeting. They presented the progress of their research activities and discussed future development plans.
The meeting began with a discussion dedicated to the organization and management of the Competence Center “Clean&Circle”, presented by the activity coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivaylo Yotinov. During the presentation, the current organizational aspects of the center’s work were reviewed, as well as key issues related to the effective coordination of research activities and collaboration between the different teams.
The second item on the agenda focused on clarifying the methodology for forming the result parameter and the contribution of the individual indicators, presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Evgenia Benova. During the presentation, approaches for evaluating the scientific and innovation results within the project were discussed, as well as the role of the individual research groups in achieving the planned indicators by the end of 2026.
The main part of the meeting was dedicated to short presentations by the individual scientific teams and working groups from Sofia University. Within these presentations, the participants outlined the results achieved so far, including scientific publications, prepared agreements with representatives of the business sector, implemented projects, as well as results with potential for intellectual property protection.
Prof. Dr. Martin Tsvetkov and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Valentina Lyubomirova from the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Georgi Georgiev from the Faculty of Physics, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yovana Todorova from the Faculty of Biology presented their scientific work and current research. In their presentations, they emphasized the achieved scientific results, ongoing research activities, and the developments planned for the coming months.
During the discussions, special attention was also given to the opportunities for closer collaboration between the different faculties and research teams within the university, as well as to the specific contribution of the individual research groups to achieving the result parameter by the end of 2026.
