Project

“Clean technologies for sustainable environment – waters, waste, energy for circular economy“ (Clean&Circle) for creation and development of a Centre of Competence

Clean&Circle took part in the business forum organized by the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (GBICC) on the topic: "Together for Fewer CO2 Emissions." The event was held at the John Atanasoff Innovation Forum in Sofia Tech Park, under the patronage of Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova.

The forum focused on good green practices in Bulgaria for reducing carbon emissions, innovative solutions for a sustainable business and urban environment offered by various companies, as well as the role and achievements of scientific centers in implementing the green transformation.

Clean&Circle was represented by the project coordinator, Prof. DSc Yana Topalova, who delivered a presentation. Her talk emphasized the technologies developed within the project and their potential to contribute to the effective decarbonization of the economy.

Great interest was also sparked by the latest scientific publication from the center’s experts, in collaboration with Sofiyska Voda, part of Veolia, which was published in the prestigious journal Water.

Sustainable resource management, as another aspect of the green transformation, was also addressed during the forum. Representatives of Sofia Municipality highlighted the new waste management system in the city, while a number of companies presented their solutions for a more resource-efficient economy.
