“Clean technologies for sustainable environment – waters, waste, energy for circular economy“ (Clean&Circle) for creation and development of a Centre of Competence

On July 4, 2025, the first operational meeting was held at the Clean & Circle Center of Competence to discuss the implementation of the scientific and business activities outlined in the new business plan under the National Research Program for Intelligent Industry (ПНИИДИТ). In the conference room of the new CC building, the leaders of the three work packages presented a schedule for the execution of the planned activities. The first and most urgent tasks related to achieving the indicators for each activity in the work packages were discussed and coordinated.

The leader of Work Package 1 "Circular Solutions in the Water Sector: Control, Management, and Innovative Technologies" is Associate Professor Dr. Irina Schneider from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". Work Package 2 "Circular Solutions in the Waste Sector: Using Waste as a Resource" is led by Prof. Dr. Eng. Ekaterina Todorova from the University of Forestry, and Work Package 3 "Accelerator for Technological Entrepreneurship" is led by Mariyana Hamonova from Cleantech Bulgaria.

The meeting was attended by the responsible persons for each activity within the work packages, contact persons from each partner organization, and the administration of the lead partner. During the constructive discussion, key and current issues related to the effective launch of Phase 2 of the project were raised.
