Researchers from the Clean & Circle Center of Competence participated in the annual Scientific Conference "Kliment’s Days 2022" at the Faculty of Biology of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski".
Studies were presented on pollution from potentially toxic elements in wastewater treatment plant discharge zones, as well as on intelligent systems for monitoring and management of waters and sediments in the Iskar River.

Another very interesting topic presented was the readiness and potential of the seaside resorts in the Burgas tourist region to implement ESG standards.
The Manager of “Water Quality Management” at Sofiyska Voda AD and part-time PhD student at the Clean & Circle CoC, Margita Aleksova, received the award for best poster on the topic: “Analysis, assessment, and risk management of cyanobacterial blooms in Iskar Reservoir for the quality and safety of drinking water in Sofia’s water supply network.”

Only a small part of the ongoing research at the Clean & Circle Center of Competence was presented at the Scientific Conference. The researchers continue their work on developing new technologies and introducing innovations within the framework of technological entrepreneurship. During one of the sessions of the conference, the National Research Programmes “Innovative Low-Toxic Biologically Active Agents for Precision Medicine (BioActiveMed)” and “Environmental Protection and Risk Reduction of Adverse Events and Natural Disasters” were also presented, in which researchers from the Clean & Circle CoC are actively involved, using the new equipment acquired within the center.
